Ben Bulben (Glencar), Co.Sligo

Ben Bulben & Glencar (M.Parkes)

 

Glencar was mined for Barytes, and ore was moved down the mountain via an ovserhead cable system, much of which remains.

The photo was taken by Matt Parkes of the aerial handling cables on the side of Ben Bulben, looking down at Glencar. See Cole's Memoir page 16.
