Holyford, Co.Tipperary

The photo was taken by Matt Parkes of a lightening damaged chimney at Holyford, Co Tipperary. There is little to see apart from the chimney, a second stump of a chimney next to ruined walls of a building (engine house?) and a shaft. The mines were mainly worked between 1837-39, and again between1848-1862. Copper was produced, from veins in Silurian greywackes.
